Final Fantasy IX Moguri Mod Download

I will be the first to admit that Final Fantasy IX isn’t one of my favorites in the series. When it first came out, I was disappointed in the game’s return to a more fantasy-based look rather than the more realistic-looking visuals in Final Fantasy VIII. But there is no doubt that many Final Fantasy fans loved Final Fantasy IX. But when I saw the Moguri Mod for the PC version of Final Fantasy IX, I suddenly had an interest in the game that I hadn’t possessed before. Having played a bit of the game on the original PlayStation, I was floored when I saw the graphical upgrades to the PC version of the game that make it look as if the game came more from the PlayStation 2 generation. What an outstanding job the team did to revamp this RPG classic. Continue Reading

What Would You Do If…Video Games Didn’t Exist?

If I didn’t have video games, I would probably be doing a lot more reading.

I love books. From the time that I could remember as a child, reading was something that I enjoyed. I loved the creative stories that made up fictional texts and I delighted in the knowledge that I gleaned from non-fiction books. Reading was not something my parents or anybody needed to force me to do. I did it willingly and even participated each summer in reading programs at the local library when I was in elementary school. Throughout my life, I’ve always associated a library or bookstore with peace and quietness. The fact that these places were able to provide that was amazing. Yet, the best part was seeing endless rows of books on just about every topic you could think on. I loved it. Continue Reading

NBA 2K14 Ultimate Base Roster & SweetFX Graphics Mod Downloads

When the NBA All-Star Game was played at Cowboys Stadium in 2010, it was quite the spectacle with a record crowd of 108,713 people to watch the NBA’s best go at it. No other basketball game in history has ever come close to such an audience in the United States. The beautiful thing about the Ultimate Base Roster Mod by HAWK23 is that you can relive that game on the PC version of NBA 2K14. Included in the mod is a special All-Star rosters file that will allow you to replay any NBA All-Star game from 1975 through the present. Combine that with Stockalone’s wonderful SweetFX Graphics Mod and you’ve got a winning combination. Major props go out to everyone who has contributed to these mods and continue to make NBA 2K14 a game that stays relevant in the sports gaming community. Continue Reading

My Early Impressions of Shin Megami Tensei V

Credit: Atlus
My first Shin Megami Tensei experience has come in the form of Shin Megami Tensei V on Nintendo Switch.

There seems to be an overabundance of video games out there that have a significant focus on demons, the Netherworld, and hell. I’ve never been one to indulge too much in those types of games. I know part of it stems from my faith in Jesus, but even beyond that, I limit the amount of games I play that have a darker tone. But being that there were so many great things talked about regarding Shin Megami Tensei V and based on how much I respect Atlus as a top Japanese RPG developer, I decided to check the game out and share my impressions here on the site. That’s the purpose of today’s post. Continue Reading

WWF No Mercy AKI Evolution Mod Download

There have been a lot of great mods created for WWF No Mercy over the years that cover just about every era in pro wrestling history and many of the more popular wrestling promotions. The work that has gone into these mods is the result of the efforts of many people who deserve to be commended. Yet the AKI Evolution Mod is a highly ambitious project that seems to be on the verge of becoming the greatest No Mercy mod ever created if its potential is fully realized. The latest version contains around 40 wrestlers with an enormous amount of attires per character. This project has come a long way and I remember when there were less than 10 playable characters.
