Hey everyone. I know it has been a while, but the release of the new NFL 2K23 mod warranted a new post. Healthwise, I have been doing well. I still have follow-up appointments with my doctors next month as they want to ensure that I stay well after what I went through this past spring. If things go well with those appointments, then I can move on to the next thing to address: hip replacement surgery. While I’ve been away, I have been gaming like crazy, doing a lot of reading, and just taking it as easy as I can.
Now back to the reason for this post. I’ve covered the tremendous ESPN NFL 2K5 Resurrected Mod that was released last year both on this site and on the TVGA YouTube Channel. Using the PCSX2 emulator, the mod essentially allowed textures to be replaced in the game to provide an upgraded experience for ESPN NFL 2K5 that truly blew me away. Earlier this week, the mod team released its newest project, NFL 2K23. After playing through a full game, I am convinced this is the team’s most impressive work yet. It looks great, plays fantastic, and has all of what any football gaming fan needs in preparation for the upcoming NFL season. As was the case with the Resurrected Mod, you will need to provide your own copy of the ESPN NFL 2K5 PS2 game ISO and PS2 BIOS in order to play NFL 2K23. It is not only available for PC, but also for the Xbox Series X/S and Android. The link below will take you to the download page, which also has links to video tutorials to help you get everything set up.
If you want more support or are looking to interact with the members of the mod team, the ESPN NFL 2K5 Community Discord is a group you will want to follow. You’ll even come across some information and ideas that may be included in future updates of the NFL 2K23 mod.
ESPN NFL 2K5 COMMUNITY DISCORD
If you have a chance to check the mod out, let me know in the comment section what you think of it. I’ve played ESPN NFL 2K5 for nearly 20 years and it is my favorite football video game. NFL 2K23 is a mod that honors the legacy of NFL 2K5 while updating the game to where it feels current. I can’t commend the mod team enough for all of their hard work. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Happy Football Gaming.
