Content Creation Should Be Appreciated

‘Sean O Connor’ has created over 7800 videos on his wrestling game YouTube channel.

Before starting the TVGA YouTube Channel back in December, it had been quite a while since I had done anything video related. I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting back in 2000 but my career path led me more into journalism than either radio or TV. So before last December, I had not edited a video in several years. Now, after about six months of regularly uploading content to YouTube, I’m quickly recalling just how much work goes into producing video content and it made me appreciate all of the content creators out there that put the time and effort into not only creating their channels but also sustaining them. It’s a lot of work! Continue Reading

Recently seeing Final Fantasy VIII Remastered in the Game Pass library brought back fond memories.

The headline is not a typo. When it comes to Final Fantasy VIII, that game has a special place in my heart. Without hesitation, I boldly say that Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite Final Fantasy game of all time and, yes, that means I prefer it over Final Fantasy VII. Continue Reading

IN THE NEWS: Resident Evil Village Has Arrived

The highly anticipated Resident Evil Village launched earlier this week.

Right off the bat, I must admit that I’ve never had a significant interest in the Resident Evil series. It’s not because I never tried out the games or didn’t see any of the films. It just hasn’t been a brand that has drawn me in. Yet, I am quick to give the series its props as it has captivated its audience since its debut in the 1990s. In video gaming, “survival horror” and Resident Evil seem to go hand-in-hand like frosting on a cake. The latest iteration, Resident Evil Village was released just a few days ago and it has the potential to be the series’ most popular entry ever. Continue Reading

My Thoughts on Cheating in Gaming

The cheat code you entered on the Contra main menu screen granted you 30 lives.

Cheating is not always wrong when it comes to video games. Indeed it is an ongoing problem when it comes to online multiplayer competition, but video game history will show you that there is a clear distinction between cheating that is endorsed in gaming and cheating that is prohibited. As a result, it is important as a gamer to know the difference. Continue Reading

I Got a Cool Achievement in CrossCode

Before April 15th, I had never had a combo last more than 20 minutes.

Today’s post will be a shorter one but the topic is kind of a humorous one. On April 15th, I filed my taxes online. Going into it, I thought that I was going to have it all done within 30 minutes and then move on with the rest of my day. Yes, the deadline had been extended into May, but I’m just used to the April 15th deadline so I filed that evening. The whole process took more than two hours and after I was done, I was mentally exhausted and done for the day. Continue Reading
