Hey everybody. I hope that you all have had an outstanding week and I’m thankful you are taking the time to rest this post. I’ve decided to take some time away from the site and the YouTube channel for the remainder of 2021. So this will be the final post of the year. Thanks to all of you who have regularly visited throughout the year and I hope you discovered some content that you found to be enjoyable. I’ve enjoyed using this platform to dive deeper into who I am as a video gamer while also challenging myself to find different gaming topics to write about. It’s been a great deal of fun and worthwhile.
Earlier this month, I dealt with an infection that had me dealing with low-grade fevers for nearly two weeks. While it’s certainly not as gnarly as some of the other health issues I’ve dealt with in the past several years, it still was not pleasant to go through. When I finally started getting better, I realized that I wanted to give myself the rest of the year to just enjoy each day without unnecessary or added responsibilities. I already have other health-related things I’m dealing with. So I’ve decided to take a break from this site and YouTube channel at least until the beginning of 2022 starting today.
There is so much work that goes into maintaining a website while generating new content, as well as doing the same for a social media platform like YouTube. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve written a post only to delete it and start all over. Or on the YouTube channel, when I’ve completely edited a video and had it ready to be uploaded only to find out I didn’t like it. So I started that video from scratch again. I’m also learning how to use these digital video editing platforms because when I graduated from college, my education in video production was mainly based on using analog video editing equipment with Super VHS tapes. Some of the editing can be very meticulous. Then there are also those moments when you have spent hours editing a video only to delete the file by accident. So while I enjoy what I’m doing, it’s a lot of work and I’m learning a lot as I go. But it’s work I would rather not have to do for the remainder of 2021.
For the remainder of the year, my focus will be on my health, connecting with my family and friends, and just being a regular gamer. This week, I’ve really been engaged in Diablo II Resurrected and Mass Effect 3. I’ve come to delight in Diablo-esque action RPGs with the top-down isometric view, multiple character classes with skill trees to explore, good storytelling, and lots of action-packed grinding that leads to tons of loot. Grim Dawn and Last Epoch are incredible indie takes on the genre. It’s cool to finally play the remastered version of the Diablo II title that took PC gaming by storm in 2000 and created its own gaming template that many games borrow from to this day.
Mass Effect 3 is the conclusion to my favorite video game trilogy. While I’m also a huge fan of the Dragon Age series, the Mass Effect trilogy is Bioware’s best work. The exploits of Commander Shepard and his (or her) crew is one of the best sagas I’ve ever played. This trilogy is one of video gaming’s greatest achievements. I am still playing through Mass Effect 3 and I have found it just as good if not better than the second game, which is typically lauded as the best in the series. But all three games are terrific.
I wish all of you a tremendous holiday season and a prosperous remainder of the year. Thanks for reading and I will see you in 2022.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell and wish you a speedy recovery. Take a well earned break. I tend to step back from blogging periodically as well, often during the summer and at Christmas as well. Its a good idea as it lets you recharge creatively and of course spend time with family. I’ve not blogged much recently as I’m working on a overview of Series 13 of Doctor Who, and I’m busy putting that together for posting. That will be in December and then I will probably take a break until the new year. Keep up the great work, get well, and wishing you a very happy Christmas and new year.
Thanks so much for the well wishes. I’m doing better than I was two weeks ago. But I am just taking it easy. It’s been very therapeutic. Today, I’m finally going to get around to watching Shang-Chi. It just recently became available on Disney Plus so it’s as good a time as any to watch it. I remember the glowing reviews it received upon release and also your review on it a couple of months ago. From there, I want to start exploring the Marvel and DC animated films. I know there has been a lot of them over the years so I’ve been searching the internet on where to start. I’m especially interested in the animated Justice League films.
You have a wonderful Christmas and new year as well. I look forward to your Doctor Who post. Stay well and thanks for your comment.
Cheers, that’s very kind of your to say, here’s to a very healthy and happy 2022. 🙂
