As someone who saw Electronic Arts ascend from its humble beginnings into a gaming corporate juggernaut, it’s been sad to see the company develop the reputation of releasing games to its consumers that are incomplete and riddled with bugs that hinder the ability to enjoy them. While you can find YouTubers who have dedicated their channels to being a voice against Electronic Arts (EA), I have seen and experienced first-hand the poor quality products that the organization has provided to its customer base for years. It is bad enough when a company consistently releases highly flawed products that the public spends money on. But with a company as big as EA and the resources it has available, there is no excuse for the consistent issues that appear in its games. Continue Reading
Legend Bowl is a breath of fresh air to football video gaming. When I purchased the game last year, it was the first time that I felt satisfied with a football game purchase in years. The game itself is like a mixture of your favorite pigskin games of the past with inspiration from the likes of Tecmo Super Bowl and the early John Madden Football games. Its gameplay is fun but also has significant depth. Legend Bowl feels like an old-school football game but also contains many modern elements. The game was also created to be mod support friendly so there are already NFL, NCAA, and retro roster mods available. Thank you to all of the members of the Legend Bowl community for their work and for sharing your creations with the rest of us. Games like Legend Bowl are why I love and support indie gaming. For years, I have desired to see a Chrono Trigger remaster or remake on modern consoles. It is my favorite game of all time and is the finest work that Square Enix (then Squaresoft) ever released. Chrono Trigger is near and dear to my heart in a way that no other game can match and maybe never will. While there seems to be no indication that a Chrono Trigger project is in the works, I was floored when Square Enix revealed this week in a Nintendo Direct that the remastered version of Chrono Cross will be released in April of this year. Titled Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, this remastered sequel of Chrono Trigger will be released on multiple gaming platforms and features an HD upgrade, enhanced battle system, and even the inclusion of the game, RADICAL DREAMERS – Le Trésor Interdit –. This was something that I was not expecting and was a pleasant surprise this week. Continue Reading
This week’s showcase for Fire Pro Wrestling World pits eight women’s champions against each other in a mega battle that includes representation from WWE, AEW, ROH, Impact Wrestling, NWA, and Stardom. All eight female wrestlers were created by TheAvenger3, who has produced thousands of created wrestlers on the game’s Steam Workshop. Big props to him for all of his fine work over the years. While I usually play the matches I feature in videos, this match featured all AI-controlled participants. This was done purposely to truly show off the brilliant AI in the game. At some point, you will see each of the ladies hit their finishers. Short answer: No. It was not due to a lack of effort. I made a huge push in November and December to get to one of the several endings in the Fire Emblem: Three Houses story. In a post I made back in April 2021, completing Fire Emblem: Three Houses was something that I was striving for. When my students were finally adults, I was very optimistic that my two-year journey with the game that involved more than 110 hours was finally going to conclude. I assumed that the second part of the game would be relatively short compared to the first and I would finish it within a couple of hours. Needless to say, I was wrong. Really wrong. Continue Reading
