Wow. That is the first word that came to mind after watching the nearly one hour documentary by Youtuber “SOFTDRINKTV” on “The Fall of EA Sports.” If you are familiar with Madden football video games or with EA Sports in general, this is a video that gets a very high recommendation from me because it shows in detail how the company went from being passionate and innovative about their products to now being known for simply extracting as much money as possible from its consumers. PC Gamer notes the excessive amount of hard drive space needed to play Modern Warfare.

I really didn’t plan for this to happen but barely a day after I uploaded Thursday’s post, I came across this article by PC Gamer talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s excessive use of hard drive space with its constant updates. Every time I launch the Steam client, I wait for updates to finish before playing.

You turn on your system and boot up your game of choice in anticipation of a great gaming session that will be a great way to pass the time over the next hour or so. Yet the game never makes it to the main menu and in fact, depending on the platform, the game hasn’t started up in the first place. What you are treated to instead of the main menu of your selected title is an update prompt that means you will have to wait from anywhere between a few minutes to more than an hour for the game to finally be patched so you can actually play.
