IN THE NEWS: Peter Parker Changes from PS4 to PS5

Wait a minute…That’s not the Peter Parker I remember from Marvel’s Spider-Man on Playstation 4.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the depiction of Peter Parker in the Playstation 4 (PS4) hit, Marvel’s Spider-Man. This depiction will not carry on to the Spider-Man remaster on Playstation 5 (PS5). When Sony revealed the updated Peter Parker, many gamers were not happy with the change. And it seems like the developers at Insomniac Games depicted Parker to slightly resemble Tom Holland, who is the actor who currently plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in films. Fun as heck. That is how I am describing the newly released Soldat 2, which is a welcome addition to my PC gaming collection. I am new to the Soldat series as I just recently played the original a week prior to purchasing the latest one last week on Steam. Soldat 2 is currently in early access but for the $13.49 price tag, there was more than enough to justify my purchase. Plus, I’m always on the lookout for independent gaming gems. Continue Reading

I’ve loved video game consoles from when I was a child. From the Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) to the Playstation 4 (PS4) and the Nintendo Switch, these systems have housed many of my favorite gaming moments. Donkey Kong Country was like nothing I had seen before when it was released in 1994.

There are some games that literally make you expand your mind as to what is possible in video gaming. Seeing the original Mortal Kombat with its digitized characters that featured motion capturing from real actors was mind-blowing in 1992. On the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), a game named Donkey Kong Country possessed a similar type of “wow” factor and showed the gaming world what could be accomplished on a 16-bit platform. Madden NFL football is a video game franchise gamers either savor or shun.

If you have been following this blog since its inception in July, you know that I am not favorable towards the modern editions of Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL gaming franchise. Looking at the scores the latest iteration, Madden NFL 21, received on Metacritic, many other gamers share both similar and even more critical sentiments.
