The Best Sites for Updated Sports Rosters

Being that we are a few weeks into the new football season, within the postseasons of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB), as well as just having finished the NHL Stanley Cup Finals (congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning), I thought that this was just as good a time as any to do a post on the best places to find updated rosters for your sports video games. Long before sports game developers implemented downloadable rosters within their games, there existed a community of gamers who were already providing updated rosters for sports games online. For years I’ve benefited from the efforts of these fellow gamers that helped to extend the life of my sports games far beyond the annual cycle they were created for.

One of the reasons why I am not starved for the latest sports game releases is because I utilize the updated roster files in sports games that I already play and have a long history of enjoying. That way, I already know what I’m getting with no surprises. For instance, I still play NBA 2K14, Madden NFL 08, ESPN NFL 2K5, NCAA Football 14, College Hoops 2K8, and MVP Baseball 2005. All of these games have wonderful support that you can find online for continuously updating your rosters year-after-year. My goal is that by the time you finish this post, you will have links you can quickly access to extend the life of your favorite sports title.

Operation Sports is my No.1 website when it comes to sports video gaming.

My favorite site for sports gaming is Operation Sports. It is the one-stop-shop for finding updated and even classic/retro rosters for your sports games. The forum section is loaded with content, not only for several different sport categories but also for many of the games within the categories. For example, the football section will have sub-forums not only for Madden NFL games but also NFL 2K, Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, NCAA Football, and more. Whenever you are looking for downloadable rosters, feel free to check out Operation Sports and sign up for a free account to gain full access to the downloads. It is also included on this website as one of the “Miscellaneous” links at the bottom of the page.

It seems like I have frequented Operation Sports for most of my adulthood. The site has been around since 1998 and I have used it as a resource for at least the past 15 years. I enjoy that even if I am not able to find a particular roster I am searching for on the site, there will be a post within the forums that lead me to another website where I can find what I am looking for. But don’t worry. This post is meant to provide you with the information you need so that you can visit the links from this page and find what you’re looking for.

All of these sites should be more than sufficient to get you started in the search for updated rosters for your favorite sports games. No longer do you have to be stuck depending on the newest released titles scratching that itch for current virtual players. Simply extend the life of the games you have or spend less than half of the money you would spend for a 2020 game for a past game that you loved. I have saved so much money using this method and if the latest release really is a good game, I wait until the price drops considerably before purchasing it. So rather than taking a chance on a game that I may not like, I find a way to continue delighting in the game I already love. This keeps me a happy gamer.

More posts of this sort will be coming in the future where I will be sharing my knowledge of gaming resources for you to check out and experience for yourself. Many of the links above can also be found within the links menu in the “SPECIFIC GAME MODS” section under “MODS.” Enjoy and get your sports game on.
